ORIENTE

Work-in-progress. Creative documentary, 4K, colour, stereo, 2.39:1, ca. 90 min.

Amid the threat of a resurgent horse virus, three gauchos journey 100 km on horseback across the Argentinian pampas to sell their herd of 30 horses.

Oriente is a little town of 1.700 inhabitants in the Argentinian pampas, 700 km Southeast from the city of Buenos Aires. No one knows precisely why the town was called like that, Oriente. Originally 'Oriente' is an old term coming from Latin to refer to the East, where the sun comes out and the day begins. Oriente is inside an area in the province of Buenos Aires, where is concentrated the most important colony of Danes and descendants, arrived to Argentina between 1845 and 1920.
